Enlightened is passionate about making a difference and supporting the communities where our employees live and work. At Enlightened our philanthropy is focused on community initiatives that support the development of our youth.
National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE)
For over three years, Enlightened has supported NFTE and its programs. NFTE helps young people from low-income communities build skills and unlock their entrepreneurial creativity. In 2009, Enlightened was given the opportunity to sponsor a school in the Washington, DC area. We provided guidance and assisted students with learning and understanding business concepts, fine-tuning negotiation and pricing skills, and finalizing business plans for their own individual businesses.
Pioneers in Education
Since 2005, Enlightened has supported Pioneers in Education, a public-private education consortium dedicated to preparing underserved and underrepresented college students to lead the 21st Century workforce. Enlightened provides leadership training, advice and counseling, professional development, and educational leadership to our mentees. In 2007, Enlightened received an award from Pioneers in Education for preparing our nation's youth to lead in the 21st century workforce.
