DOL, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Acquisition and Management (OASAM) asked Enlightened to develop a web-based interim inventory collection and data entry system in order to conduct a baseline inventory for various agency offices in anticipation of an enterprise-wide JFMIP compliant system.

 

Description of Products and Services Provided
to Customer

For DOL OASAM, Enlightened developed an interim data collection system that was used to collect data for the baseline physical inventory.  The DOL Interim Inventory Data Collection System (IIDC) was designed to capture all JFMIP compliant data elements in accordance with Federal regulations.  Furthermore, the system was designed as a web-based system so that both the national and regional office would have access for entering and viewing their personal property physical inventory.  The IIDC adheres to rigorous 508 compliance standards and was designed to provide maximum efficiency in data entry.

In addition, Enlightened developed the DOL procedures manual for conducting a physical inventory campaign.  This procedural manual was based on Federal guidelines and for GSA along with industry best practices.

Enlightened was also responsible for training the DOL inventory specialists, who training the DOL inventory specialists, who were responsible for conducting the physical inventory, as well as for performing data entry responsible.

Outcome/Benefit
to Customer

  • Enlightened enabled DOL to easily transition into a meeting Federal regulations regarding personal property management through the use of this intuitive data collection tool. 
  • The GUI was designed to represent the paper-based form that was originally used, and incorporated design elements to facilitate data entry, as well as incorporate 508 compliance measures for added functionality. 
  • Given a tight schedule, OASAM was able to quickly collect the baseline data that will be used for the pilot of the Oracle-based asset.
