ENLIGHTENED TO STRENGTHEN IT SECURITY SYSTEMS AT THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH HUMAN SERVICES
Enlightened Will Provide HHS with FISMA Assessment Services
WASHINGTON (September 8): Enlightened, Inc. ("Enlightened"), a leading provider of Information Technology (IT) consulting services, announced today it has been awarded a contract with the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) to conduct Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) auditing services nationwide.
Under this contract, Enlightened will document CMS’s existing IT security posture of their Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) facilities to identify their FISMA compliance. The QIO community consists of health care professionals who review and improve quality of healthcare for Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries over a national network of 58 separate physical sites. Securing IT systems is essential to ensuring that CMS’ resources are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
"We are pleased to support CMS’s mission of ensuring that quality, effective, efficient and secure health care services are provided to Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries," said Akisha Campbell, Project Manager of Enlightened.
