US NAVY AWARDS IV&V SERVICES CONTRACT TO ENLIGHTENED
WASHINGTON (SEPTEMBER 29): Enlightened, Inc., an INC. 500 and Inner City 100 company, announced today it has been awarded a contract by the United States Navy to provide independent verification and validation (IV&V) services for their CIRCUITS project. The purpose of IV&V is to provide an objective review of a software product under development, by a third party technically, financially, and managerially separate from the organization doing the development. The concept originated at NASA after the space shuttle Challenger disaster in 1986.
The software application under development is CIRCUITS, used by the Navy to track and manage electric, gas, water, sewage, and steam utility use at 117 bases around the world.
"Verification answers the question, Are we building the product right? And validation answers the question, Are we building the right product?" said Antwanye Ford, Enlightened President. He added, "This is Enlightened’s first contract award by the US Navy, and we are delighted with this opportunity. We look forward to working with them on CIRCUITS and answering those questions."
